What Determines a Carbon Footprint and Why Care?
Your carbon footprint is a combination of the greenhouse gasses released in the environment caused by you and the actions that you do. Everything from the amount of land you have, how often you drive, what you buy and more can have an impact on the size of your carbon footprint. There is a mathematical equation for how much carbon dioxide each action we take leads to. Most carbon dioxide is produced by the use of fossil fuels and waste products such as solid waste, and waste from wood products. The Environmental Protection Agency has now made plans to try to lower greenhouse gasses that are released into the air
All of these greenhouse gas emissions lead to climate change raising the temperature on the earth and cutting through the atmosphere. So lowering your carbon footprint helps reduce the amount of carbon dioxide released into the air. There are many simple things you can do to help reduce your carbon footprint. Many of the things that you do to reduce your carbon footprint will also save you money, so you will be helping save the environment and adding to your bank account. So remember to do things such as lower the temperature of your thermostat during the winter and carpool or bike to work.
